Friday - Saturday

Expect dry weather and comfortable temperatures on Friday and Saturday.

Friday will be the sunnier of the two days with temps climbing into the 30s, followed by more cloud coverage and temps in the 20s to low 30s on Saturday.

Saturday Night - Sunday

We'll then be tracking another quick-moving but relatively weak system that is set to arrive around 6 PM on Saturday evening. This system is similar to our storm from Wednesday night but maybe a bit more moisture to work with.

In total, I'm still only expecting another dusting to up to 1-3 inches. This could allow for soft(ish) turns for first chair Sunday morning. The storm will move out on Sunday morning and be followed by sunny skies and temps in the 20s.

Monday - Tuesday

Following a break from Sunday morning through Monday afternoon, the action will begin to ramp up with a stronger storm on Monday night. This storm has a good cold front, westerly winds, decent moisture, and solid storm energy, which should allow for a healthy dose of heavy snow into Tuesday.

Here's a look at the temperatures at roughly 10,000 feet on Monday night. This is a good signal for a strong cold front, which typically brings heavy snow and difficult travel conditions to the mountain corridor.

The storm should begin to wind down by midday Tuesday and be followed by very cold temperatures from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night. Temps will only climb into the low teens on Tuesday and drop below 0F on Tuesday night.

In total, I'll go with an early forecast of 3-8 inches for the mountain corridor, with our first true powder potential in a couple of weeks set for Tuesday. Start planning now.

Travel Forecast

Dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds continue through Saturday afternoon.

Wet, slick, and snowy road surfaces will then be in play beginning between 5 PM and 7 PM on Saturday evening. This could create minor travel impacts due to accidents and slower travel speeds through Saturday night.

Slick and road surfaces will continue through Sunday morning ahead of mostly dry road surfaces beginning on Sunday afternoon. Dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds continue from Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon.

Icy and snow-packed road surfaces, along with difficult travel conditions due to heavy snow and reduced visibility, will then be in play from Monday night through Tuesday afternoon as a stronger storm dives into Colorado. Plan for extra travel time and possible road closures due to accidents.

Extended Forecast

Following the storm on Tuesday, we should see dry weather and cool temperatures hang around for next Wednesday, Thursday, and maybe into Friday, December 2. Temps will climb into the teens to low 20s each day.

We'll then be tracking a stormy pattern throughout the Western US beginning around Saturday, December 3. It's too early to know the details but it's encouraging to see active weather near Colorado.
