Storm Recap

We picked up another 1-3 inches on Tuesday so we'll end this latest round of snow with 4-11 inches.

My final forecast coming into the storm was for 6-12 inches (3-6" Monday PM, 2-4+" Tuesday AM) so we're right in the zone. Very cold air that arrived on Tuesday morning essentially shut off any remaining snow production otherwise I think we could have squeezed out a few more inches.

Wednesday - Thursday

Temperatures are quickly warming up on Wednesday morning as a much warmer airmass slides over Colorado. Temps will start in the teens and rise into the upper 20s to low 30s through Wednesday.

Thursday will also remain dry under mostly sunny skies, with temps climbing into the 30s under a bit more cloud coverage by Thursday afternoon. Thursday could also feature a bit more wind compared to Wednesday.

Friday

Our next round of snow is now lining up for Friday as another quick-moving system slides over Colorado.

I fully expect this to be a solid 8-12 hour event, with very heavy snow at times from Friday morning through Friday afternoon. The storm should then quickly wind down through Friday evening, with dry weather prevailing through Friday night.

In total, look for 3-8 inches from Friday morning through Friday night. Friday will be full-on storm skiing with very heavy snow and strong winds. There could maybe be a few leftovers on Saturday morning, especially if more terrain opens.

Saturday - Sunday

We should then receive mostly dry conditions from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon. It's still a mixed bag but I'm expecting partly to mostly cloudy skies and temps in the 20s to low 30s.

Travel Forecast

Wet and icy spots will continue to be encountered through early Wednesday morning ahead of dry road surfaces prevailing by Wednesday afternoon.

Dry road surfaces and normal travel speed will continue through Thursday night.

Icy and snow-packed road surfaces quickly return from Friday morning through Friday night. Give yourself plenty of extra travel time on Friday due to very slick/snowy road surfaces and possible road closures due to accidents.

Mostly dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds should prevail on Saturday and into Sunday.

Another storm early next week will bring us more wet, icy, and snow-packed road surfaces. Plan for extra travel time Sunday night through Tuesday morning (December 6) of next week.

Dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds prevail from December 7 through at least December 9.

Extended Forecast

Early Next Week & Beyond

Following the quieter weekend, our attention will turn to a storm that will move inland and target Colorado from roughly Sunday night through early Tuesday, December 6. The latest model analysis breaks the storm apart as it moves further inland so we'll have to see how it trends over the next couple of days.

Looking further ahead, there is a pretty clear signal for dry weather prevailing from Wednesday, December 7 through at least Friday, December 9. Chances for snow could then return around December 10/11.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for daily updates!
