Sunshine forecast at Idaho's ski areas on Monday

Summary

Bogus Basin gets the powder award for fresh snow on Sunday with 5 inches, while Brundage, Sun Valley and Pomerelle got an inch or so. The skies are clearing on Monday for a day of sunshine with high temperatures in the mid-40s, perfect conditions for spring skiing! A new storm system is moving into Southern Idaho on Tuesday-Thursday, bringing the potential for 6-10 inches of new snow depending on location. Less accumulation is forecast at North Idaho resorts, but there's a chance of snow on Wednesday and Thursday.

Short Term Forecast

Brundage Mountain, Tamarack and Sun Valley are favored to get 7-8 inches of new snow out of the next storm system Tuesday-Thursday, and Bogus Basin, Pomerelle and Pebble Creek are forecast to receive 5-6 inches of new snow. There's a chance of snow all week through Saturday. 

Extended Forecast

Six to 10-day outlook is calling for an above-normal chance of precipitation in most of Idaho and normal chances in North Idaho. Don't put those boards away yet! 

Announcements

Silver Mountain, Lookout Pass, Lost Trail Pass and Sun Valley have spring season pass sales going on for the 2019-2020 season. There's a short window of time to buy the passes at the fully discounted spring rates.  

Ski areas are beginning to announce their closing dates and pond skimming events. Magic Mountain closes on Saturday, March 30. 

Sun Valley plans to stay open through April 21. 

Brundage has a pond-skimming event planned on April 6, and a Gelande Quaff beer-catching and drinking event on the last day of operations on April 13. 

Bogus Basin has a PBR Ribbon Hunt planned on April 7.  

Schweitzer Mountain has a Duck Derby scheduled for April 6th, chance to win a free season pass! 

The Leadman ski-bike-run relay race at Silver Mountain is scheduled for April 20. 

Lookout Pass has a Cardboard Box Derby and Hawaiian Luau planned on April 14, and pond skimming event on April 21, plus Easter egg hunt and Beach Party Luau.
