Big *pow* in Idaho through Friday!

Summary

Here comes the snow! A big storm system moved in overnight, bringing 3-6 inches of fresh snow, depending on location. A Winter Storm Advisory and Warning are in effect in the mountains statewide. One to 2 feet of snow are forecast at N. Idaho ski areas through Thursday night, with an atmospheric river system bringing significant snow to the mountains. Silver Mountain and Lookout Pass are favored to get up to 2 feet max through Friday, and then more comes Friday night-Saturday. Brundage Mountain is expected to get 12-22 inches through Thursday night, Tamarack 6-13 inches, and Bogus Basin 4-8 inches. Heavy snow and high winds are forecast south of the Snake River at Pomerelle, Magic Mountain and Pebble Creek, with 11-19 inches forecast today and tonight at Pomerelle and 7-13 inches at Pebble Creek, on top of 16 inches in the last 24 hours. Temperatures will gradually warm up by Thursday, and then a colder system moves in Friday, bringing more snow mainly to N. Idaho over the weekend. Snow quantities taper toward the weekend at S. Idaho resorts.
