Free Refills Today, More Snow by Thursday
Summary
The cold side of a Pacific Storm will move through today with refills of snow in the Central Mountains. Breezy northwest winds will push that energy out for bluebird skiing and riding on Tuesday. A very moist trough of low pressure will begin moving in Wednesday night. It will be pretty warm to start out so we’ll likely see some rain on the snow below 7,500 feet. By Thursday snow levels will lower down to base levels for about 6” of fresh powder just in time for next weekend’s Spring events. This on-again / off-again pattern will continue through next week with a parade of Pacific storms moving through from the west. The trick is to bring in enough cold air. One thing is certain, backcountry snowpack remains unseasonably deep and this will extend the fun well into April.
