A beautiful day greets the Mid-Atlantic Wednesday before a major storm system affects the region Thursday and Friday. This storm will bring warm air and heavy rain that could produce flooding. All hope will not be lost with some accumulating snow on the backside of this storm on Friday. The passage of this storm brings cold air and a favorable pattern for lake-effect snow to develop this weekend.
