A calm and quiet week will continue for the Mid-Atlantic with warm temperatures. The next batch of scattered rain returns on Friday and Sunday. Hunter Mountain in New York is the last resort open and will be closing this weekend.
The weather pattern this week has kept most rain out of the region and allowed for some beautiful weather. This trend will continue over the next few days with a few chances of rain by Friday and Sunday. Otherwise, mostly clear weather will affect the region. Hunter Mountain in the Catskills of New York is the last resort open with 19% of the terrain open. Here is a look at the mountain Thursday morning.

The remainder of this week will continue to see warm spring temperatures with areas of scattered rain moving through the region on Friday and Sunday. Let’s take a look at the GFS model’s depiction of precipitation type/intensity and mean sea-level pressure (MSLP) from 7 am Friday, April 9th until 7 pm Sunday, April 11th.

The Catskills will see around a quarter to a half-inch of rain. The periods of rain will keep temperatures cool in the 40s and 50s, otherwise, temperatures will warm to the 60s and even 70s on Sunday.
Hunter Mountain will be closing Sunday, April 11th and that will be the end of our ski season throughout the region. It’s been a great season and I will provide an end-of-year recap of our season on Sunday with total snow accumulations and how this season fared from the average. Have a great day!
