Ramping Back Up

Summary

California and the Collective Destinations in the Northern Rockies will receive the DEEP this week. The first weekend of March will then feature good totals for most locations and yet another healthy wave for California.

Short Term Forecast

Let's get started with the deepest reports from the Collective Resorts over the past 5 days.

Deepest 5-Day Totals

Jackson Hole: 37 inches

Taos: 15 inches

Snowbasin: 12 inches

Squaw Valley: 10 inches

Sun Valley: 9 inches

This Week

If you took my advice last week to target Taos on Saturday (2/23) and Jackson Hole yesterday and today (2/24-25), you would be one happy powder skier or rider. Taos received 14 inches over this past weekend, while Jackson Hole has received 34 inches over the past 48 hours and it's getting even DEEPER through Tuesday.

Sun Valley, Idaho and Big Sky, Montana will also receive the goods on Monday and Tuesday so if you're situated in the Northern Rockies or are looking for a good early-week chase, Big Sky, Jackson Hole, and Sun Valley are the places to be.

If you're situated along the West Coast, look no further than Mammoth and Squaw Alpine as they receive yet another 4-6 FEET through Thursday morning. It's been absolutely bananas for the entire month of February in the high Sierra so why not end it on a high note?!

Extended Forecast

Upcoming Weekend & Next Week

Following the fun in the Northern Rockies and California this week, the Collective Destinations in Utah and Colorado will receive a nice refresh on Friday, March 1st.

We'll then turn back to California for another wave of healthy totals on Friday and Saturday, March 1st and 2nd, before we again turn back to Colorado and Utah for a good-looking powder day on Sunday, March 3rd.

Looking ahead to the first 10 days of March, the storm train will continue to target much of the West as fast-moving storms slide from west-to-east across the US. If you couldn't enjoy the goods in February, there's plenty more on the way.

As always, stay tuned to the 1-10 day forecasts for all of the Mountain Collective destinations and our team of local forecasters for the latest updates.

Thanks for reading and look for my next update on Monday, March 4th.
