Storm on the way, heavy snowfall in store for New York
Summary
High temperatures for today will reach into the mid-upper 30s at summit elevations. Cloud cover will increase during the afternoon hours ahead of a major low pressure system projected to pass to the south of New England. Most areas in New England will experience a rain-snow mix at some point during this storm. Western and southern New York will receive significant snowfall accumulations from this system (see specific totals below). Northern areas of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine will receive about 1-3”. Precipitation will cease by Saturday afternoon.
