Mixed precipitation on the way
Summary
Spotty rain showers may persist in some of the more mountainous regions of New England today while temperatures remain in the lower 40s into the afternoon hours. A cold front drops out of the north during the afternoon, bringing temperatures below the freezing mark. High pressure takes temporary control during the early morning hours on Wednesday before giving way to an approaching area of low pressure. Intermittent mixed precipitation arrives on Thursday into Friday, mostly as snow-sleet for the mountains and rain-sleet for southern New England. Upslope snow showers are possible for northern resorts on Friday into Saturday, followed by high pressure for the remainder of the weekend.
