Snowing, but not a dump

NW Open Snow Headlines

Light snow today & Friday

Weekend Sun

Monday – little snow?

NW Open Snow Inside Story

Expect light snow to fall today and into Friday. The snowfall will be mainly Crystal to Hood to Bachelor (3-9”). I favor Bachelor for this storm. The farther south, the better the snowfall.  Baker and Whistler won’t get much (1-3”). Snow levels will be from 2000ft north to 3500ft south – so nice and low. Not epic snow, but decent. Those are 48hr snowfall totals.

The weekend will see high-pressure build in and that will mean a dry pattern with mostly sunny skies.

NW Open Snow Extended

On Monday a weak system will produce a little snow (1-2”) with a 3000ft snow level. Not an epic, but keeps us in the game – barely.

After Monday a high pressure builds in, blocks storms and we stay dry for several days, or longer. Sadly, there is nothing of note on the horizon. The March forecast is for drier and warmer than normal. That doesn’t mean no snow, only the trend will be below normal. Snowpack is currently near all time record low—ahhhhhh. But there is still skiing on the upper slopes in some areas – call ahead.

PS - New contest! We're giving away a ski jacket from the company NWT3K. The cool part is that you can customize the jacket's colors and zipper layout. Click here to enter the contest: http://opensnow.com/contest
