Steamboat Daily Snow

Update
The next storm will bring snow to Colorado on Monday and Monday night. What does this mean exactly for Steamboat? Well, even though there are lots of good factors in this storm (moisture, energy, instability), there is one very bad factor, which is the wind direction from the south, which is NOT a favorable wind direction for intense snow at Steamboat.
Putting these factors together, we will need a lot of luck for an intense storm cell or an intense line of precipitation to happen to track directly over Steamboat, as this would overwhelm the bad wind direction and could produce 3-6 inches within 30-90 minutes. I have no idea if this will happen. Most of Monday and Monday night could be dry. Or we could see a quick burst of snow with an inch or two. Or a line of precipitation could happen to track directly over Steamboat and bring 6+ inches. Keep your eye on the snow stake camera so that you don’t miss surprise powder if it happens!
Following this storm, Tuesday and Wednesday should be dry. The next storm will bring snow from Wednesday night through Friday morning with the potential for 4-8 inches and the best powder on Thursday-day or Friday morning. After that, we’ll see a few more days of dry weather and then we could see another storm around February 18-19th.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
