Steamboat Daily Snow

Update
On Wednesday we saw a few times when clouds shrouded the upper mountain, though now snowfall resulted from these clouds.
Now on Thursday, we’ll start the day with clear skies and temperatures ranging from 9F at the base to 20F at mid-mountain to 12F at the summit. With plenty of sunshine during the day, these temperatures should begin to equalize and on-mountain highs should top out in the upper 20s with base temperatures in the low 30s.
On Thursday night, we could see a few clouds with light snow showers, but like Wednesday, it’s likely that these snow showers will not bring measurable snow.
On Friday and Saturday, expect the sunny weather to continue and temperatures will be warmer, reaching the mid-to-upper 30s during the afternoon.
The next chance for significant snow will occur on Sunday as a storm brings flakes from late morning through evening. I think we’ll see 3-5 inches during the day and perhaps an additional 2-4 inches between late afternoon and Sunday evening. This timing means that you’ll likely find soft snow on Sunday midday and afternoon, and if we do see more snow after lifts close on Sunday afternoon, then expect to find soft leftover powder on Monday morning.
After that storm, it looks like the majority of next week will be dry with the next chance for snow around the weekend of March 10-11. After that, we could see another storm roughly one week later, around the weekend of March 17-18.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
