Update

Wednesday

A weak system is moving across northern Colorado and snow began to fall in Steamboat early on Wednesday morning. We might see 1-3 inches through Wednesday midday and then the snow should end. The temperature higher up the mountain should rise into the teens.

Wednesday night to Friday night

A storm will move over New Mexico, and this storm track is usually much too far south to bring significant snow to Steamboat. However, the storm will push enough moisture into Colorado that we should see some snow during this 48-hour stretch. My estimate is for amounts under four inches, and any flakes are good news and will keep snow conditions soft.

Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

We should see four days of dry and mostly sunny weather, with the warmest days on Monday and Tuesday as highs reach the 30s. Enjoy this brief break of sunshine!

Snow returns on Wednesday & Thursday (December 12-13)

It’s too soon to know if the storms during the middle of next week will provide significant snow or just a glancing blow, but I have moderate to high confidence that flakes will return, capping our dry period at about four days. Stay tuned for more details as these days get closer.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
