Update

Friday

It's another clear morning and the inversion continues (colder temperatures at lower elevations). The temperature at the base is about 0F while readings are around 20F on the mountain. Expect sunshine all day with temperatures in the 20s to low 30s.

Saturday

The morning will be sunnier than the afternoon as clouds move in ahead of the next storm. Temperatures should once again be comfortable with highs in the 30s.

Saturday night through Monday

Snow returns!

The snow on Saturday night should be just a few showers. We should see some accumulating snow during the day on Sunday, though a wind direction from the southwest isn’t great for snow at Steamboat.

From later Sunday afternoon through Monday morning, the wind direction should be from the west, and this is a very good direction for snow at Steamboat.

I think we’ll see 4-8 inches from Sunday midday through Monday midday, with Monday offering the best powder. A favorable wind from the west combined with lots of moisture might bring more snow than expected.

Tuesday & Wednesday

I think we’ll see dry weather for most of this time, though there’s a chance for some snow to linger into Tuesday morning if another piece of energy pushes across northern Colorado.

Next storm

We are still looking good for snow to return sometime on Thursday and Friday. We’ll dig into the details of this system in a few days when the forecasts show a bit more consistency.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
