Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

Mostly dry through closing day at Steamboat

Summary

We saw a few inches of snow on Tuesday midday and on Tuesday night. Snow showers could continue on Wednesday morning, then we should see dry weather through closing day on Sunday.

Short Term Forecast

Tuesday brought cooler weather and also a surprise as a small area of intense snow tracked directly over the mountain during the middle of the day and quickly dropped 3 inches of snow. This was not well forecasted and shows that the atmosphere often has a few tricks that we still can’t accurately predict!

On Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, snow showers returned and dropped about an inch of snow.

Now on Wednesday morning, we should see light snow showers continue through mid-morning, and then the showers should dissipate and give way to drier weather with high temperatures in the 30s.

Extended Forecast

Thursday will be dry and sunny with temperatures warming back into the 40s.

Friday will be dry, but a storm tracking to our north could drop temperatures back into the 30s and we might see a shower now and again.

Saturday will be dry, and temperature whiplash will hit again as readings warm back into the 40s.

For Sunday’s closing day, yet another storm tracking to our north will cool temperatures back into the 30s and there will also be a low chance for a few snowflakes.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
