Snowmaking continues

Summary

On Thursday morning, temperatures are in the teens and snowmaking is continuing across the mountain.

Update

Following the 3-4 inches of snow on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, temperatures were chilly all day on Wednesday and dropped into the teens on Wednesday night, which allowed for another solid night of snowmaking.

Thursday will be a chilly day with highs in the 20s.

Starting on Friday, most days will be similar with lows in the 20s (ok for snowmaking), highs in the 30s (comfortable for riding), and partly to mostly sunny skies. Opening Day is scheduled for Saturday, November 27.

Our next chance for a storm will be around Friday, December 3, but the latest forecast models are trending toward the storm taking a more northern track with less (or no) snow for us. Boo.

The broader weather picture isn't what we'd like to see heading into December as there are no major storms or stormy periods on the horizon. With the low sun angle of December, most of the snow that we have on the ground will stick around, and snowmaking will be able to add to the base in spots, but we could really use a stormy week or two to open much more of the mountain, and I don't see a stormy period happening during the next 10+ days.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!

And Happy Thanksgiving!
