Snow on Saturday night

Summary

Saturday will be gorgeous for the first half of the day, then a storm will approach during the afternoon and a few inches of snow will fall on Saturday night.

Update

Friday was a gorgeous day with perfectly clear skies, normal wind speeds, and a high temperature in the 40s. Hello, spring!

Saturday will be mixed as it will start out sunny and calm with a high in the 40s, though by afternoon we'll see more clouds and gusty wind speeds.

On Saturday night, a fast-moving storm should drop 1-4 inches of snow. This will be a strong storm, but it will move through northern Colorado quickly, which is why snow accumulations should just be a few inches. The new snow could create softer turns on Sunday morning, especially on the groomers which will be somewhat free of the melt-freeze crust. Because the storm is strong, it's worth watching the snow stake closely to see if we could get an upside surprise.

On Sunday, which is closing day, we'll see mixed weather with some snow flurries, some breaks of sunshine, some gusty winds, and temperatures in the teens and low 20s.

Looking ahead to next week, a storm will drop significant snowfall on Tuesday into Wednesday, but the mountain will be closed. Just our luck…

Thanks for reading and please check back for one more update on Sunday morning!
