Significant storm with powder on Saturday and Sunday

Summary

Tuesday through Friday will be dry and warm, and then a strong storm should bring a lot of snow from Friday night through Sunday.

Update

Monday

Monday started with clouds covering the sky, and these clouds finally broke by midday leaving the afternoon to be mostly sunny and warm with a high temperature from the mid-30s to the low 40s.

Tuesday & Wednesday

Both Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny and warm with high temperatures in the upper-30s to mid-40s. With a soft/moist snow surface during the day and cooler overnight temperatures, expect some areas of crunchy snow each morning, softening by late morning.

Thursday

Thursday will start with sunshine, then clouds will filter the sun during the afternoon. The high temperature should be in the 30s to low 40s, just a few degrees cooler than Wednesday.

Friday

The storm will move into Colorado but I think a lot of the day will be dry and mostly cloudy with a high in the low 30s. Snow could begin late in the afternoon or early evening.

Saturday & Sunday

We will see snow from Friday night through at least Sunday morning with total accumulations of at least 10-15 inches. Saturday should be a powder day with fresh snow in the morning and more during the day, then additional snow could fall on Saturday night, with the possibility of superb powder on Sunday morning. Wind speeds will NOT be that strong, so this should be a more comfortable storm to enjoy compared to the last storm cycle.

Longer Range

We will likely see dry weather on Monday and Tuesday (February 5-6), and another storm should deliver multiple days of snow to Colorado between about Wednesday, February 7, and Saturday, February 10.

My next update will be on Wednesday morning.
