Snow returns on Tuesday night

Summary

Monday and most of Tuesday will be dry, and then we'll see snowflakes in the air from Tuesday night through the upcoming weekend.

Update

Sunday

Sunday was absolutely wonderful with clearing/sunny skies, comfortable temperatures in the teens and 20s, light winds, and most importantly, fresh, fluffy snow. It's hard to beat days like Sunday and I hope that you enjoyed it.

Monday

Monday will be dry with increasing clouds throughout the day, and the high temperature will be in the upper 20s to low 30s. There should be leftover stashes of soft snow, especially in more shaded areas.

Tuesday

Most of the day will be dry as we await storm energy to arrive from the southwest. We may see a few afternoon showers, but I doubt we'll have much or any accumulation. Skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temperature will be in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Wednesday

We may see at least a few inches of snow on Tuesday night and during the day on Wednesday, and temperatures on Wednesday will be a little cooler with a high in the 20s. The high amount of moisture in the air and strong storm energy could deliver more than "a few inches" of snow, but the unfavorable wind direction from the southwest should limit snow accumulations.

Thursday

From Wednesday night through Thursday, I have higher expectations for snowfall since we will continue to have a lot of moisture and storm energy in the air, and the wind direction will become more favorable, blowing from the west. I think 4-8 inches is a decent forecast for snow from Wednesday night through Thursday, so there should be some new snow to enjoy on Thursday. The high temperature on Thursday will be in the teens.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

I have low confidence in the forecast for Friday through Sunday. More snow is likely, but this part of the storm may track to the south of Colorado, which often results in lower snow totals for us. High temperatures from Friday through the weekend should be in the teens, and I think skies will be partly to mostly cloudy during this time.

Longer Range

The weather pattern from Monday, February 12 through about Tuesday, February 20 looks calmer and drier compared to the upcoming week. That said, the forecast still shows hints that we may see additional snow during this time, and there might be a stronger storm sometime around or just after the President's Day weekend (February 18-20).

My next update will be Tuesday morning.
