Monday morning powder

Summary

About 9 inches of new snow fell on Sunday afternoon and Sunday night, which means that Monday will be the second powder day in a row.

Update

Sunday

Sunday morning offered 7 inches of powder, then we saw a lull in the snow, and then snowfall ramped up from Sunday afternoon through Sunday night.

Monday

The snowfall on Sunday night was 9 inches at mid-mountain and 13+ inches at the summit, and this will be untracked for Monday morning's first chair.

On Monday, we may see waves of snow during the first half of the day, and then the snowfall should wane during the second half of the day as the storm slowly tracks north and east of Colorado. The high temperature will be in the teens.

Tuesday & Wednesday

On Tuesday and Wednesday, unorganized storm energy will cross Colorado from west to east, generating additional snow. I have low confidence in this part of the forecast, and I'll estimate a broad range of 1-6+ inches of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday. The high temperature will be in the 20's.

Thursday & Friday

On Thursday and Friday, a more organized storm will arrive, and its track south of Colorado could deliver 1-5 inches of snow. The high temperature on both days will be in the 20s.

Saturday & Sunday (March 9-10)

I think Saturday and Sunday will be dry with high temperatures close to 30°F.

Next Week (March 11-15)

The first part of next week should be on the drier side, and then a storm may cross Colorado sometime between Wednesday, March 13, and Friday, March 15. I continue to have low confidence in the forecast for this storm, and it'll likely take at least another few days for the forecast to become clearer.

My next update will be Tuesday morning.
