Storm update

Summary

More snow fell on Monday night, and snowflakes are in the forecast through Friday.

Update

Monday

On Monday, the first half of the day was drier, and then we saw snow showers turn into steady snow late in the afternoon and continue through Monday night. The mid-mountain snow stake shows 9 inches of new snow as of Tuesday morning.

Tuesday & Wednesday

Conditions on Tuesday morning will be delightful due to the 9 inches of snow that fell on Monday night and because it's still snowing as I write this at 700 am.

I have low confidence in the weather forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday as unorganized storm energy will cross Colorado from west to east, generating additional times of snow accumulation. I'll estimate a broad range of 1-6+ inches of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday, but again, I have low confidence in these details. The high temperature will be in the 20's.

Thursday & Friday

On Thursday and Friday, a more organized storm will arrive, and its track south of Colorado could deliver 1-5 inches of snow, with the best chance of steadier snow on Friday into Friday evening. The high temperature on both days will be in the 20s.

Saturday & Sunday (March 9-10)

I think Saturday and Sunday will be dry with high temperatures close to 30°F.

Next Week (March 11-15)

On Monday and Tuesday (March 11-12), we may see times of snow showers. From Wednesday, March 13, and Friday, March 15, a storm should cross Colorado with a chance for steadier and deeper snow. I continue to have low confidence in the forecast for this week, and it'll likely take at least another few days for the forecast to become clearer.

My next update will be Wednesday morning.
