Potential snow through Friday night

Summary

We should see additional accumulating snow through Friday night, and then the upcoming weekend will transition to be dry and mostly sunny.

Update

Tuesday

Tuesday was a great day to be on the hill as about 9 inches of fluffy snow accumulated on Monday night, and during the day on Tuesday, we saw an additional 2 inches at mid-mountain.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, weak storm energy will traverse Colorado and we could see anything from mostly dry and partly sunny weather, all the way to snow showers and a few inches of accumulation. The high temperature will be in the 20s.

Thursday & Friday

From Thursday midday to Friday night, a more organized storm will track south of Colorado. This is not a favorable storm track for Steamboat, so I think that our snow totals will be on the lower end with 1-4 inches of accumulation. That said, a few snow showers will likely be intense on Thursday afternoon/night and again on Friday afternoon, so maybe we'll get lucky and see more snow than this forecast. The high temperature on both Thursday and Friday will be in the 20s, and the best chance to ride powder will likely be Friday morning and again on Saturday morning.

Saturday & Sunday (March 9-10)

I think Saturday and Sunday will be dry and mostly sunny with high temperatures in the low 30°F.

Next Week (March 11-15)

On Monday and Tuesday (March 11-12), we could see anything from dry and partly cloudy weather to some accumulating snow, and it depends on the strength of the storm energy that will push into Colorado early in the week.

From Wednesday, March 13, and Friday, March 15, I have increased confidence that a storm will track close to Colorado, though it is too soon to know which of our state's mountains will be favored for the most snow.

My next update will be Thursday morning.
