Monday Morning

The storm on Sunday night delivered 2 inches at mid-mountain, 5 inches at the summit, and strong winds as well with the summit seeing 40-60 mph gusts.

I thought that the initial part of the storm on Sunday night would deliver more snow, but any flakes are good flakes.

Monday's conditions will be tricky. The new snow will be surfy and dense due to the fast wind speed, and upper-mountain lift operations could be impacted by the wind.

During the day on Monday, there could be additional snow showers, but I think most of the snow will stay just south of the mountain with limited additional accumulation.

This Week

Tuesday will be mostly dry and partly sunny with a high in the teens, though times of clouds and snow showers could linger.

Wednesday should be dry and partly sunny with a high in the teens.

Wednesday night and Thursday will bring another storm to the northern mountains with a possible 3-6 inches of accumulation. This might lead to fun low-end powder on Thursday morning.

Friday and Saturday should be dry, partly sunny, and warmer with a high temperature in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Longer Range

The next storm should bring snow sometime from later Saturday through Monday (January 4-6). Pencil in possible powder (or at least softer conditions) around Sunday, January 5, and again on Monday, January 6.
