Friday's high temperature will be around 30°F with mostly sunny skies.

Saturday & Sunday

During the weekend, a storm will track to the north of Colorado. Forecast data shows that a lot of snow should fall well to the north of Colorado, while the Steamboat area will be on the edge of the snow. 

There will be a LOT of moisture in the air, and some models convert this moisture into 10-20+ inches of snow.

However, there will be an absence of a strong spark to convert this moisture into snow, since temperatures will be rather warm, the jet stream will be to the north, and storm energy will be weak-ish. So other models bring just lower amounts of snow due to the absence of these ingredients.

What will happen? Our forecast model blend shows about 4-8 inches of snow with snow levels rising to an area between the base and mid-mountain. In addition to the snow and the warmth, winds will also be gusty. So expect a little bit of everything with some snow, some wind, some warmth, and even some rain drops at the lowest elevations. If it happens there there is enough snow for powder on Saturday or Sunday, I look at that as a bonus, but overall, the weekend's weather could do some odd things to the snow.

Monday and Tuesday

Monday and Tuesday should be dry, partly cloudy, gusty, and warm with high temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Longer Range

There will be two potential stormy periods through the middle of February. The first will be around February 5-8, and the second will be around February 11-15. Those are wide windows of time because the storms are still one to two weeks away, and we'll figure out the details and narrow down those windows soon enough.
