Storm Total

Tuesday was fun with about 6 inches of snow falling during the day, and then another 5 inches accumulated on Tuesday night.

Get out there early on Wednesday morning to enjoy the delightfully soft snow.

The morning temperature will be in the single digits to low teens, but despite the cold temperature, the high sun angle of early April will still likely impact the snow quality by mid-morning.

Storm #2

The second storm this week will track over southeast Colorado, and this is not an ideal track for Steamboat.

There could be some snow from Wednesday night to Thursday night, though I expect just a coating to a couple of inches of accumulation.

Storm #3

A third storm this week will track to the south of Colorado, and again, this is not an ideal track for Steamboat.

There could be some snow from Friday night to Saturday night, and I expect just a coating to a couple of inches of accumulation. More likely, the summit could experience gusty winds from the east.

Longer Range

All of the longer-range forecast models agree that Sunday, April 6, through Tuesday, April 15 (and maybe beyond) will trend toward spring conditions with mostly drier weather and warmer temperatures. 

This 15-day forecast could change, but for now, it looks like we'll move fully into spring mode starting on Sunday.
