Light snow 1-3" forecast at Sun Valley


Sun Valley had 1" of new overnight, and 1-3" are forecast today, as a storm system hitting the West-Central Mountains and Boise Mountains will hit the edge of the Big Wood River Valley. High temp of 14 degrees today. Skies will clear New Years Eve through Sunday.

There's a 70% chance of snow today in Sun Valley, with 1-3" expected. Cloudy to partly cloudy on Friday, and then clear on Saturday, New Year's Day and Sunday, with high temperatures in the teens. 

Next Tuesday-Wednesday, a new storm is forecast to move into the area, and a foot of new snow is possible on Tuesday and another 8" on Wednesday. The snow keeps coming! 

10-day GFS forecast for the state of Idaho shows a potential for another 2 feet of snow to fall in Sun Valley through next week.

Dollar Mountain is open, Baldy Bowls, Sunrise Bowl and Seattle Ridge are open. 100 trails open, 42 goomers, and 10 lifts in operation. Reporting 51" base at the base area and 75" on top.
