Summary

- Snow moves in late Monday morning with heavy snowfall Monday afternoon and evening. The snow tapers off by Tuesday morning. This storm could bring 5-15 inches of snow to the mountains and 3-8 inches to lake level by Christmas morning. Winds gusting to 50+ mph on the ridges by Monday afternoon. - Behind the storm, lots of cold air through New Year's Eve with highs in the 20's & 30's, and a dry pattern starting Tuesday. We could see some light snow showers Thursday and New Year's Eve from weak systems dropping down from the north. - High pressure builds in over CA the first week of January continuing a dry pattern, but bringing a slight warming trend. Storms could break back into CA sometime during the 2nd week of January.
