Nice Weekend Ahead, But Storms Return Next Week...

Summary

- A final shortwave moves through today with scattered snow showers possible through the afternoon. A dusting up to an inch or two possible on the mountains. Highs in the 30's. Ridgetop winds gusting up to 40-50 mph. - We will see a break Friday - Sunday with sunny skies and lighter winds. Highs in the 30's on the upper mountains and 40's at lake level Friday, and then 40's on the upper mountains & 50's at lake level Saturday - Sunday. - We have increasing clouds and wind Monday as the next storm approaches. We could see light showers by afternoon. Snow levels starting around 9,000 feet. Then Monday night into Tuesday we could see heavier precipitation and highs winds with snow levels falling to 7,000 feet, and maybe near lake level by Tuesday evening before the storm moves out. We could see 4-11 inches on the upper mountains by Tuesday night with mostly all rain below 7,000 feet. - We could see a quick break Wednesday. But then more storms are possible Thursday through the weekend of the 6th. These storms could have atmospheric rivers associated with them with the potential for high snow levels and significant precipitation amounts. - The active pattern could continue into the week of the 8th.
