Pointless Cold Front...
Summary
- Mostly sunny skies Friday - Saturday. Highs into the 40s on the upper mountains & 50s at lake level. Lighter winds through Friday and then increasing on Saturday with gusts up to 60+ mph possible during the afternoon over the ridges. - A cold front moves through from the north on Sunday morning with a quick shot of light snow possible. Temperatures drop into the 30s for highs. We will see strong northeast winds on the mountains gusting up to 70+ mph by afternoon over the ridges. That will make it feel even colder, and possibly close some upper mountain lifts. Only expecting a dusting of snow at best. - Expecting sunny skies for Monday-Thursday as high pressure builds back in. Highs rebounding into the 40s. - A weak system could move down from the north next Friday and Sunday. The forecast models are at odds on whether or not they track over the Sierra or to the east. The difference being colder air with light snow or the dry pattern continuing. - Overall a dry pattern continues through the next 2 weeks with no confidence in any storms of significance right now.
