The Ingredients are There, But Stay Calm...

Summary

Sunny and colder today with highs in the 30's. Winds could gust to 25 mph on the mountain tops. That same weather carries into Sunday with winds increasing slightly. Sunday night a cold front moves through with winds gusting to 50 mph. Much colder air moves in with highs only in the 20's Monday and Tuesday. A slow moving low down the coast should bring light snow Sunday night through Tuesday when several inches could accumulate across the basin. Tuesday night into Wednesday a stronger storm could bring 1-2 feet of snow across the Tahoe basin. Some models keep the storms going and others have a break Thursday and Friday. Temperatures warm back into the low 30's for highs during this period. Next weekend we could see a strong storm that could bring multiple feet of snow if it comes in as forecast this morning. Plenty of time to watch over the next week.
