Freshies on Thursday morning

Summary

Wednesday night's snow will create fun/deep conditions on Thursday morning, and we should see additional periods of snow through Saturday night.

Update

Wednesday

Wednesday delivered 2-4 inches of snow on top of the 3-4 inches that accumulated on Tuesday night. Conditions were fun and became deeper throughout the day.

Wednesday Night

The snow continued and we picked up another 4-6 inches of accumulation on Wednesday night. The mid-mountain snow stake camera does not do a great job of showing the new snow, but two on-mountain sensors confirm the accumulation on Wednesday night.

Thursday

Thursday morning will be fun with the 4-6 inches of snow that fell on Wednesday night, and we should see another 1-3+ inches of snow on Thursday morning through midday. Then the snow should wind down and perhaps completely stop for a bit on Thursday afternoon and early on Thursday night. Thursday's temperatures will be in the teens.

Thursday Night & Friday

On Thursday night, the next storm will move across southern Colorado and we should see a quick 3-7 inches of fluffy accumulation. This snow will be fresh and waiting for those on Friday morning's first chair. During the day on Friday, we should see snow winding down or stopping altogether, and the high temperature will be in the teens.

Friday Night & Saturday & Saturday Night

The next storm will not take a favorable track for us, but we should still see some snow showers with light accumulations, perhaps a few inches. These showers could fall anytime from Friday night through Saturday night with any lingering snow ending by Sunday morning. Temperatures will be in the teens on Saturday and then drop close to 0°F on Sunday morning. Any of these snow showers could 'top up' conditions and keep the slopes soft, though I am not expecting deep accumulations between Friday night and Saturday night.

Sunday, February 11 to Saturday, February 17

We will see mostly dry and mostly sunny weather from Sunday through the following Saturday (February 11-17). There will be a few storms close to Colorado during this time and any of them could deliver a quick shower or more clouds, but overall the weather will be calm. Temperatures on Sunday will be in the teens, and then temperatures from Monday to Saturday should be in the 20s.

Longer Range

The next chance for snowfall should be between Sunday, February 18, and Wednesday, February 21. The storm track during these days could be from the southwest, which is often favorable for us, and we have plenty of time to watch the longer-range forecast models and adjust the details.

My next update will be Friday morning.
