Telluride Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 7 months ago March 28, 2024
Dry then on Thursday, and then snow returns
Summary
Thursday will be dry, partly sunny, and warmer. Then from Thursday night to Monday night, multiple storms will bring periods of snow, and the total accumulation could be 8-12 inches.
Update
Wednesday
Wednesday started with soft, cold snow and lingering snow showers, then the afternoon was drier with a high temperature in the upper teens to 20s.
Thursday
Thursday will start with partly cloudy skies and dry weather.
Thursday's weather should oscillate between some sunshine and increasing clouds as moisture arrives ahead of the next storm. The high temperature should be around 30°F.
Thursday Night to Monday Night
From Thursday night to Monday night, multiple storms will move through Colorado, and Telluride should see 8-12 inches of snow.
The first round of snow will fall between Thursday night and Friday afternoon with a dusting to an inch or two of accumulation as more snow falls to the north of Telluride. Temperatures will be warm, so the snow quality should be thicker than average.
The second round of snow could be from Friday night through Saturday midday, though I think most of this snow will fall to the north of Telluride, so we may see little to no accumulation.
The third round of snow from Sunday midday through Monday afternoon or evening will more squarely target Telluride and the southern mountains. We could see 6-10 inches of accumulation during this time, and temperatures will be cooler so the new snow should be fluffier on Sunday afternoon and Monday.
Longer Range
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (April 2-4), we will see dry, mostly sunny, and warm weather with high temperatures in the 30s to low 40s.
Then from Friday, April 5 to Wednesday, April 10, multiple storms will track close to or through Colorado, and we will likely see cooler temperatures and more snow for at least a few of these days.
My next update will be Friday morning.
