New snow on Monday morning

Summary

Sunday was showery, and then 2-3 inches of snow fell from Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening.

Short Term Forecast

Sunday

Sunday was showery with little accumulation, and then snow showers finally produced 2-3 inches of accumulation during Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. The automated sensors showed 2-3 inches, and the snow stake camera almost always shows less snow than what actually fell.

Monday

The 2-3 inches of snow will be untouched on Monday morning and should ride nicely on smoother and/or groomed surfaces. Otherwise, Monday's weather will be partly cloudy with a high temperature in the 20s. During the midday, afternoon, and evening, snow showers will pop up and these showers may bring 1-3 inches of new snow.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

From Tuesday to Friday, we'll see dry weather and sunny skies. The high temperature on Tuesday will be in the 30s, and highs from Wednesday to Friday will reach into the 40s. Expect spring conditions for all four days with crunchy snow in the morning, a transition to corn/soft snow by midday, and some slush by the afternoon.

Longer Range

The next storm will bring snow from Saturday, April 6, to Sunday, April 7. The storm will be strong, but moisture will be limited, so I am keeping my expectation for snowfall on the moderate side.

After this weekend's storm, we may see more snow around April 9-10 and again around April 13-15, with warmer and drier weather between these systems.

My next update will be Tuesday morning.
