Western snow returns this weekend
Summary
This week, the storm track will stay locked in with dry weather over the west and a storm over the east on Wednesday into Thursday. Then the pattern will shift with colder air and snow moving to the west starting during the first weekend in February.
Short Term Forecast
Forecast for the week
The five-day snow forecast does a decent job at showing the current storm track with cold air and snow over the Upper Midwest and the Northeast. In addition to the cold air, a storm will bring a transition from rain-to-snow over the northeast on Tuesday into Wednesday.
Over the west, we’ll be mostly dry for the week with light snow on Monday along the spine of the Rockies and then some snow returning to the coast on Thursday into Friday.
Forecast for the weekend
The weather pattern will change starting on Friday night with a large area of storminess heading into the western United States and Canada. The forecast map below is pretty clear – snow on Saturday and Sunday for most of the west!
Extended Forecast
The outlook for February 4-8
The weather pattern that will become established over the weekend will continue during the following week with cold air and storminess hanging over western North America.
Thanks for reading and look for the next forecast on Thursday, January 31.
