Utah Daily Snow

Friday the Thirteenth
Update
Something tells me I'll be remembering this day for awhile, perhaps in the same vein as Tax Day 2015....
10" fell in LCC yesterday, and it looks like at least another 10-11" has fallen overnight courtesy of a NW flow and lake enhancement. It's only 3:20am right now, but I have a feeling that in a couple hours, Snowbird and Alta will be reporting totals in the 18-22" range for the storm. That would make sense based on the 1.37" of liquid thus far at Alta-Collins. BCC looks like they have received 10-12" thus far.
I was really hoping we'd get a good lake effect band to develop and sure enough, we have formation. Unfortunately, it's a bit too far west right now to do the Cottonwoods any good. But notice how a wave of precip overnight was enhanced by the lake, and now we have a certified band over the western half of the SLC valley:
The weather nerd in me is a bit giddy. It's been awhile since we've had a strong enough lake effect band like this!
Not going to push this forecast or snow reports on social media this morning... We'll just see how many people are paying attention... Obviously you are, so have fun out there!
