Snow showers today will become more widespread this afternoon and evening, especially in far northern Utah. Periods of heavy snow will continue thru Wednesday and Thursday with significant accumulations possible.

Short Term Forecast
ALL UTAH SKI AREAS / RESORTS REMAIN CLOSED DUE TO COVID-19
Winds are blowing today in advance of our storm system. Not too much change to the forecast. We already have been seeing some snow showers, particularly up north. Beaver Mtn and Pow Mow with a few inches per webcams, and almost 3" on the Snowbasin snow stake overnight:
I expect these areas north of I-80 to continue to be hit the hardest later today thru tonight. Snow will make its way farther south, but it might not start snowing in the Cottonwoods/PC areas until late tonight or early Wednesday morning. Snow will then continue thru at least midday Wednesday, then we may see a break in the action Wednesday afternoon.
Behind the storm, an additional disturbance in a NW flow will bring an extended period of snow to the mountains of northern Utah (particularly Cottonwoods). We could see significant additional accumulation Wednesday night into Thursday.
Right now, totals look to be in the 10-20" range for most mountains, but I would not be surprised to see a favored location like the Cottonwoods surpass two feet.
We should clear out on Friday and then have a mostly clear weekend with warming temps. Next week is still looking like chances for mostly weak systems, but timing and details remain vague.
