Cold with Lingering Snow Showers

Temperatures are cold with snow showers lingering on Tuesday in a northwest flow. We will see a break later this week before a storm brings snow back to Utah this weekend.

Just a quick update today... the forecast was for 6-12" by tonight. So far the Cottonwoods are showing 8-12". PC area with 8-10". The Northern Wasatch resorts have been lower so far with 2-6" up there.

Snow showers are going to continue, and likely increase in coverage today (Tuesday) before dissipating tonight. We could pick up another 1-4" with higher amounts possible in LCC. It's certainly not the big storm models were showing middle of last week, but it's another storm adding to what has been an incredible month. Hard to complain.

We are going to have a break Wednesday and Thursday. Clouds and winds increase on Friday with a storm system that is going to pound the Sierra Nevada to our west. We are going to get scraps here in Utah, likely moving in on Saturday and continuing into Sunday with much colder temperatures returning. Right now, the models have been hinting at the storm splitting and limiting the amounts we see somewhat. I'm going to give models another day to work through some of these differences and hopefully we will have a clearer picture.

For now, definitely looks like the powder days this upcoming week are today and Sunday with perhaps some additional snow lingering into Monday of next week.
