Summary:

Warm weather will continue for another 24-36 hours before a strong cold front will drop temperatures dramatically Tuesday night.  Periods of snow showers later this week possible with light accumulations.

Details:

Our near record warmth with come to an end late Tuesday into Wednesday as a strong cold front pushes through Utah.  Wednesday's high will be much colder with 20s on the mountain and 30s and 40s in the valleys.  It looks like precip will be limited to just a few isolated showers with this front.  A second push will move into the region on Thursday with reinforcing cold air and perhaps slightly better moisture.  Still, I wouldn't expect much more than an inch or two on Thursday.

It looks like we dry out and warm out a bit next weekend for Easter.  After that, models had been hinting at a deeper, stronger trough bringing perhaps more significant snowfall.  The GFS has backed off on this idea a bit and brings in just another weak system while the Euro maintains a deeper, stronger solution.  At this point, there's not much confidence, but hopefully we get lucky and get a decent storm into the area early next week.

The colder air this week will at least help resorts to maintain their current snow and stay open through their scheduled closing day.
