Update

On Thursday evening, a cold front arrived and snow began to fall, and now on Friday morning, the official mid-mountain snow stake camera shows 4 inches of new snow while the official snow report lists 3 inches as the total.

We are seeing a lull in the storm now early on Friday morning with a chilly temperature of 7F at the summit and 17F at the base. Snow showers should return by mid-to-late morning and continue through Friday night. Additional snowfall could range from 4-8 inches from Friday mid-morning through Friday night. This storm does not have nearly as much moisture as the previous storm, so snow totals could be on the lower end of this range, but if we see a few intense squalls, then we’ll get closer to the upper end of the range.

Dry weather will return from Saturday midday through Monday (April 14-16), then the next storm should bring 3-6 inches on Tuesday, April 17th.

After that, a system should bring snow from Thursday night through Saturday morning (April 19-21), with low-end powder amounts possible on Friday and Saturday morning. This would be perfect timing before Winter Park closes on Sunday, April 22nd (Mary Jane will be open through Sunday, May 6th!).

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
