Update

Season Wrap-Up

Reminder: Winter Park is closed, and Mary Jane will be open through May 12th.

In my final daily post on Monday, April 22, I provided a season overview with a snowpack graphic. Click here to see that discussion: https://opensnow.com/dailysnow/winterpark/post/15290

Monday Morning

We were expecting 3-6 inches of snow on Sunday night. On Monday morning, the mid-mountain snow stake shows 4 inches, and just to the south of the mountain on the Berthoud Pass SNOTEL station, I see about 4-6 inches. Enjoy this new snow on Monday morning and get out there ASAP as clear morning skies will allow the sun to work over and moisten the snow quickly!

Snow Monday night through Wednesday midday

Monday midday and afternoon will bring showers with light accumulations.

On Monday night, expect a few rounds of intense snow with 6-12 inches of accumulation.

Tuesday morning should be a powder day with a double-digit snow report in the morning if we’re fortunate. This snow will be thicker and surfy due to the warmer temperatures.

Tuesday’s weather should be a mix of showers, times of dry weather, and maybe a break of sunshine.

On Tuesday night and Wednesday, a second round of intense snow should fall with 6-12+ inches of accumulation. Some of this snow will continue through Wednesday midday, so if you go out on Wednesday morning, you should be rewarded with fun skiing as temperatures will be just cool enough for the snow quality to be a little lighter and fluffier compared to Tuesday morning.

After that, we’ll see dry weather from Thursday, May 2 through Monday, May 6, with another storm possible sometime between May 7-10.

Thanks for reading and check back for an update on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. After that, I will post when (if) additional storms head toward Winter Park / Mary Jane.
