Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Winter Park Daily Snow

A few flakes this weekend, more snow Tuesday at Winter Park

Summary

We’ll see chances for light snow Saturday night and again Sunday night though accumulations should be low. A stronger storm will bring moderate snow totals on Tuesday into Wednesday.

Short Term Forecast

While most of the weekend will be mostly sunny and dry, the latest forecast models now show that two weak systems could bring flakes each night.

On Saturday night there could be a few snow showers with light or no accumulations. On Sunday late afternoon through Sunday night, there is a higher chance for a period of steadier snow and maybe we can eke out a coating to an inch or two of accumulation.

Monday will then be dry all day, and the dry weather will extend into Tuesday morning.

From Tuesday midday through Wednesday morning, a moderately-strong storm will bring snow to northern Colorado. While there is still a lot of variability in the forecast models, 3-6 inches looks like a reasonable first forecast. The softest turns should be either during Tuesday’s last chair or Wednesday’s first chair.

Extended Forecast

The latest forecast models continue to show chances for just weak storms into mid-January with no credible evidence of a stronger storm in our future.

The next chance for light snow could be around Friday, January 8. Following that potential system, sometime between January 10-13 could bring an additional storm or two.

I am doing my snow dances, washing my car, and everything else I can think of to make it snow more, but right now chances for big snow through mid-January are low or non-existent. Perhaps this will change during the second half of the month.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
