Winter Park Daily Snow

Wind was the story, snow coming on Saturday to Winter Park
Summary
Wednesday night brought strong winds, and winds will continue to be strong on Thursday. The next storm should bring at least a few inches of snow and maybe soft turns on Saturday morning.
Short Term Forecast
The forecast for Wednesday night’s very fast wind speeds worked out as a nearby weather station measured a peak gust of about 80mph!
Now on Thursday, the wind is a little lighter, but we’re still seeing gusts of 30-50+ mph, and along with temperatures in the single digits, that means it feels really, really cold. Bundle up and be safe! Temperatures should stay in the single digits today, along with some sunshine, so it’ll feel very cold all day.
On Friday, the weather will feel more comfortable with somewhat slower wind speeds and temperatures warming into the teens and low 20s.
From Friday at midnight through about Saturday at noon, expect snow to fall and we should be able to measure 2-5 inches from this storm. Saturday's first chair could offer softer turns with new snow on top of groomers, and snow conditions could continue to become softer through Saturday midday.
Extended Forecast
Sunday will be dry, mostly sunny, and comfortable with high temperatures in the 20s.
Our next chance for snow will be on Sunday night through Monday. A storm will track to the west and southwest of Colorado, and as it slides by, we should see at least a few inches and potentially a few soft turns on Monday.
During the middle of next week, we could see either no snow or just a few snow showers, then we’ll have slightly higher odds for snow during the end of the week around January 21-22 as energy from that storm to our southwest lifts up and over Colorado.
Looking further ahead, most models show a decently strong storm crossing the Rockies around January 24-25, so I will keep my eye on these dates, and my fingers are crossed that it might be the system that finally brings us a significant snowfall.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
