Snow on Tuesday night

Summary

Tuesday will start dry, then our best chance for snow will be on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Update

Monday was mostly sunny.

Now on Tuesday morning, the mid-mountain snow stake is dry, but that should change over the next 12-24 hours.

Tuesday will start dry, then we'll see snow begin on Tuesday afternoon or evening with a high chance for accumulating snow through Wednesday morning. There should be a break in the snow on Wednesday midday, with perhaps more snow showers popping up later on Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening. The storm will not have an ideal setup to bring us significant snow, but we should wind up with 3-7 inches, and most of this snow should fall on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, which would make Wednesday morning the time with likely the softest turns. The snow quality will be fluffy.

Aside from the snow, the other main story on Tuesday and Wednesday will be cold temperatures. Tuesday will have a high around 15°F and Wednesday will be colder with a high in the single digits.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be dry. Thursday will be another cold day with a high around 5-10°F, then Friday and Saturday will be warmer with a high around 15-25°F.

Our next chances for snow will be…

  • Saturday night or Sunday. Maybe a few flakes.

  • Sometime between February 8-11. Again, snow totals will likely be light.

  • Sometime around February 14-16. During this timeframe, we have the potential to see a stronger storm, but it's still 15 days away, and that's out in the 'fantasy land' of weather forecast models, so we will hope for the best but let's keep very low expectations.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
