Cold on Wednesday and Thursday

Summary

The main story for the next two days will be very cold temperatures that don't stray far from 0°F.

Update

On Tuesday, snow started late in the afternoon and continued overnight into Wednesday morning.

The snow total on Wednesday morning is about 2 inches at the mid-mountain snow stake. This was below the lower end of our forecast range.

On Wednesday, flakes could be in the air a lot of the day, but I do not think we will see much accumulation due to a lack of moisture in this cold airmass.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the main story will be very cold temperatures that don't stray far from 0°F. Our high temperature forecast is around 5°F each day. Dress warmly.

On Friday and Saturday, temperatures will warm up with highs around 20°F each day. Both of these days should be mostly sunny.

Then our next chances for snow will be…

  • Saturday night or Sunday. Maybe we will see a few flakes.

  • Sometime between February 8-11. Snow totals will likely be light, if anything.

  • Sometime around February 13-16. This timeframe has the potential for us to see a stronger storm, but it's still two weeks away, and that's out in the 'fantasy land' of weather forecast models, so we will hope for the best but let's keep very low expectations.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
