Tracking the incoming storm

Summary

Tuesday will be dry with some clouds, then we'll see snow ramp up on Wednesday afternoon.

Update

Monday was sunny with warm high temperatures that were in the 30s.

Now on Tuesday morning, the snow stake is still dry, but that will change during the middle of this week.

Tuesday will be another warm day with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s, and while it will be dry, there will be more high-and-mid level clouds covering the sky which will filter and at times block the sunshine.

Then we will see snow on Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night. I still have only medium confidence in the details of the forecast, though the latest data shows that we could still see snow totals of 3-7 inches which is in line with the forecast we discussed yesterday. The best chance for snow will be during Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening, so the best time to enjoy the new snow and softer turns should be either Wednesday's last chair or more likely Thursday's first chair. Temperatures on Wednesday will be chilly with highs in the teens.

Thursday's weather will be dry with partly sunny skies and a high temperature in the teens. Again, there should be some soft snow on Thursday morning thanks to the flakes that fall on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

On Thursday night, we could see snow showers but likely just light accumulations, if anything.

Friday will be mostly dry (a few snow showers in the morning?) with partly cloudy skies and a high temperature in the teens.

Saturday and Sunday will be sunny with warmer temperatures and a high of around 30°F.

Our next chance for snow will be from later on Monday, February 21, through Wednesday, February 23. If we're a little lucky, next week's storm could be stronger and produce more snow compared to the system that we're seeing this week.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
