Halloween opening!

Summary

The 2022-2023 kicks off on Halloween with limited terrain.

Update

Happy Halloween and what fun it is to see the mountain opening (limited terrain) now in October.

Thanks to cool temperatures and the snowmaking teams, as well as about one foot of natural snow last week, a few lifts and trails will be open starting today, Monday, October 31st.

There will be four lifts and three trails open, all on the lower part of the mountain.

For the rest of the mountain, well, there is snow cover, but it's still a little thin to open up a lot of terrain:-)

Looking at the forecast for this week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be dry and comfortable with highs in the 40s. Then on Thursday will see more clouds with a high chance for snow during Thursday midday or afternoon and through Thursday night. Total snowfall could be in the 3-8 inch range. This storm will track to the south of Colorado, which is not favorable for a lot of snow at Winter Park, but there will be narrow bands of intense snow that move across the region, and if we are lucky and see one of these bands, then there could be an 'extra' couple of inches that accumulates.

Following the Thursday and Friday storm, we might see more snow during the weekend of November 5-6, though this is still uncertain. I'll keep you posted with daily updates.
