We are in a favorable pattern for snowfall across the northern mountains.

The snow stake on Friday morning notes 3 new inches at mid-mountain, and most of this snowfall fell on Thursday night and is waiting to be ridden on Friday morning.

On Friday, Friday night, and Saturday, waves of storm energy will bring snow to Winter Park with 2-6+ inches of accumulation by Saturday afternoon. While there could be some powder on Friday afternoon, it's likely that Saturday morning through the early afternoon will offer the deepest fresh snow. Winter Park will be right on the edge between more snow to the north and less snow to the south, so there could be an upside or downside surprise in terms of snow accumulation.

Then, following a potential break in the snow on Saturday night into Sunday morning, the next storm should push a narrow band of intense snow into Colorado from later on Sunday through Monday. If this narrow band of intense snow hits the mountain, we could see 3-6+ inches of snow with powder likely at some point on Monday.

And after early next week and as we head into February, there will be chances for a storm around February 4-5 and again around February 8-9. At the moment, neither of these potential storms looks like they will deliver significant snowfall to Colorado, but we're still one week or more away from both storms, so we'll need to give them a little time to move closer before we dive into the detailed forecast.
