Dry and sunny, for now

Summary

The weather for the next week will be dry and sunny with slowly warming temperatures. But then we (should) transition to a stormier weather pattern with (hopefully) multiple chances for snow through the end of November.

Update

We received 6 inches of snow on Wednesday into Wednesday evening, and then the main story on Thursday was chilly temperatures in the 20s which allowed for snowmaking all day.

Coming up, there are 6-8 days of dry weather, with temperatures that warm slightly each day. While temperatures will be favorable for efficient snowmaking through early in the weekend, we'll slowly transition to temperatures that are less favorable for snowmaking by the middle of next week.

The good news is that most versions of most models are forecasting a transition to a stormier weather pattern starting as early as November 16-17, with a pattern favorable for storms perhaps continuing through the end of November. It'll be another few days (at least) before we can start to dig into the details of any single storm, so for now, we'll look ahead with cautious optimism, hoping that a late-month stormy period could create a deeper base of natural snow, which would allow for more terrain to open.
