On Friday morning, we had a lull in the storm, and then I expected snow squalls to bring a few more inches of snow on Friday afternoon and evening.

In reality, we saw about 2 inches of snow on Friday midday, and we saw another 8 inches after lifts closed, which likely resulted from spillover from the snowfall just east of the divide that was much more intense than expected (some models showed intense snow east of the divide, but only one model, the German ICON model, showed it spreading so far east and west). This will set up Saturday morning with soft turns and enjoyable powder.

Get it while the powder is cold on Saturday, and dress warmly as temperatures will be in the upper single digits to the low teens.

Looking ahead, we'll have a chance for light snow from Sunday into Monday, and then we'll be dry until our next chance for a storm around December 18-20.

In the coming days, I'll spend more time discussing the longer-range outlook through the end of December.
